Ross S. Weiner, President
Mr. Weiner is an experienced investor in real estate equity, debt, mezzanine debt,
preferred equity, securities and other real estate related investments; and also as an
advisor to clients on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings and corporate
transactions. He has been active in real estate investment, finance, lending, asset
management, development and investment banking for more than 25 years.
Mr. Weiner is currently a managing partner of a boutique hotel company that owns
and operates 3 hotels in Southampton, NY. He was also the founder and investment
manager of Nesher Capital Investors LLC, a real estate securities fund that invested
in publicly traded real estate securities and secondary market partnership
interests.
Most recently, Mr. Weiner was a Managing Director at Archer Capital Management, a
$500 million hedge fund focused on distressed credit opportunities, privately
sourced loan investments and special situation equities. Mr. Weiner’s role included
investing in private, secured real estate debt and equity-like investments while further
expanding Archer’s network of relationships in the real estate and capital markets.
Previously, Mr. Weiner was Executive Vice President with G. Soros Realty, the real
estate merchant banking affiliate of George Soros and the Quantum Funds where he
was responsible for the acquisition of more than $2.0 billion of real estate assets for
the Company and Mr. Soros; and was responsible for establishing, structuring and
maintaining various domestic and international investment vehicles, funds, joint
ventures and relationships with partners.
Prior to Soros Realty; he was an executive with Jones Lang Wootton Realty Advisors
(now ING/Clarion Real Estate), a pension fund advisor; and Lazard Realty, Inc., a
subsidiary of Lazard Freres & Co.
Mr. Weiner is a licensed real estate broker in New York State; he is a graduate of the
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received an MBA from
Columbia Business School.
